DESCRIPTION: France, lyre clock, ebonized wooden case with gilt ornament, Roman numeral silvered dial with engine turning, blued steel Breguet style hands, gridiron style pendulum with scallop shell ornament suspended above the movement and behind the lyre strings, case back with purpose made cover for the exclusion of dust, 8 days, time and strike, pendule a Paris movement, c1840
CONDITION: Case good with minor veneer loss on back, ebonized surfaces with restoration, ornament cleaned and lacquered, dial darkened and with lacquer, bezel with loss to cast ornament at 5:30, hands good, pendulum movement ticks and strikes, would benefit from service, Ht 20 1/2"
